When to add Spoilerish information from books & other sources
I was thinking when information from the book that is detailed and contains spoilers. May be September or October? I don't want to do anything like that without some kind of consensus. --John Shepard
Since this is an informational website, lets go ahead and include all information including spoilers. I'll write up a brief statement warning visitors that this site includes spoilers as well as a spoilers template that can be inserted before any paragraphs that include spoilers. The following information includes plot spoilers.
Ok, when writing spoilers, please use the spoilers warning template by putting {{Spoiler}}
- I was at Harris Teeter yesterday and got a MIND-blowing spoiler. It deals with the Krogan. I think you know what I mean. Anyway. It's in GamePro Issue October 2007 Page 44. Does that information belong here? It deals with sidequests and I'm guessing that will be included later as the game is released.
- On Sidequests, I think they should be listed with their planet/location as well as within two sections Main Storyline Or Not Required Quests. (John Shepard 13:40, 28 September 2007 (PDT))
- Hmmm, I guess we could include the spoiler, just include the tag before it, and summaries the spoiler. (If you can). Alternatively, you could make a new page which has the spoiler on it and well decide what to do with it once I and Vtshipe see it. (You could possibly e-mail it too. I agree with how to organize the sidequests. --V 1993 22:29, 28 September 2007 (PDT)
- Is the spoiler video the same as the one on the MTV site? http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1570741/20070927/id_0.jhtml ?--V 1993 22:51, 28 September 2007 (PDT)
- Yes, but I know what planet that is. It's good to know, but it may change how people play. I know I may be tempted to go there. But probably after I get to know Wrex and what the Krogan may do with it. (John Shepard 09:04, 29 September 2007 (PDT))
- Maybe we shouldn't include that spoiler right now, what until the game comes out and we see the whole thing. --V 1993 13:36, 1 October 2007 (PDT)
- Well I was just on the Mass Effect Forums yesterday and it seems like some people know. It's in the MTV Video thread. So I guess it doesn't matter, but I think we should wait too. (John Shepard 07:02, 2 October 2007 (PDT))
Extensions
If yanyone wants to look at the long list of extensions available at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Extensions and then let me know if there'll be helpful ones for the website and I'll install them. Vtshipe 10:56, 21 October 2007 (PDT)
Navigation
Shouldn't the navigation sidebar be a little more...I dunno, intuitive? There's a lot of information covered in the game itself, like specific technologies (Element Zero, Mass Accelerators, Drive Cores) and history (not timelines, per se, but rather a collective history of all of the races intergalactic relations since discovering the Citadel) that's either hard to find or non-existant based upon the Navbar. I think it'd run more smoothly, and more people would add information and articles, if it looked more like this:
-Home -Gameplay -Story -Missions -Characters -Races -History -Astronomy -Vehicles -Technology
I hope that's not too ambitious.
Out of pocket
To all,
With my computer dying and the business of Christmas, I'll not be able to add too mui\ch this week. I'm hoping to get a good amount of time to contribute over the Christmas break. Vtshipe 11:00, 15 December 2007 (PST)
new recently completed articles
I think that the articles about grenades and achievements should be placed under recently completed articles, they are both great articles and recently made, and the current "recently" completed articles are very old. David 13:57, 28 February 2008 (PST)
- Yeah I agree, though the achievements page isn't really as good as you say. Still, lets find five articles or so to put there. Yamikotai 00:12, 29 February 2008 (PST)
- why not? I've finally found out how to get that Spectre gear! (by getting the rich achievement, by getting 1.000.000 credits)
David 02:14, 29 February 2008 (PST)
- It's just not a particularly special page; all the other wikis are bound to have them, and many other sites (hundreds at least) will too. But I suppose since it is, when you get down to it, a 'recently completed article', so it should go on the list.
And heh, I got the rich achievement halfway through my first playthrough. I was pretty happy when I found this new, powerful gear for sale. Even better when I got the Power Gamer achievement. Yamikotai 02:43, 29 February 2008 (PST)
could this now be updated?
