On February 21, 2007, BioWare announced that Del Rey, a part of Random House Inc., had acquired the prequel novel to the game, Mass Effect: Revelation.
The novel, authored by the lead writer of the game (Drew Karpyshyn), will subsequently be accompanied by another set in the world of Mass Effect.[28] Revelation was released on May 1, 2007. A second novel, Mass Effect: Revolution, has been announced.
